Pollinator Habitat Workshop
August 17th, 11am – 1pm $45/person
Join us for a hands-on session where we’ll learn how to support one of nature’s smallest but most vital helpers: native bees. This workshop is all about building pollinator habitat, deepening connection, and empowering you with simple tools to take action in your own space—whether it’s a backyard garden or balcony.
Together, we’ll explore the world of mason bees, solitary native pollinators that are gentle, non-aggressive, and incredibly efficient at pollinating fruits, veggies, and flowers. You’ll learn how to create a safe, functional nesting site for them and how to make your space more inviting for all kinds of beneficial insects.
Guerrilla Gardening: Seed Bombs & Habitat Restoration Workshop
August 16th, 11:00am – 12:30pm $20/person
Get your hands dirty for a good cause. This workshop is an invitation to reconnect with nature and take part in the quiet revolution of re-wilding forgotten spaces.
In this session, we’ll explore the art and activism of guerrilla gardening — a movement that turns neglected land into pockets of pollinator-friendly habitat. You’ll learn how to make “seed bombs” using Pacific Northwest native wildflower seeds and natural clay/compost blends, designed to be tossed into vacant lots, roadsides, alleyways, or even tucked into your own garden.
Together, we’ll talk about the principles of habitat restoration, what kinds of plants support biodiversity in our local ecosystems, and how small, subversive acts of care can help repair land and invite life back in.

Flavourtrails X Island View Farm
Sunday and Saturday, July 12th-13th 2025
We’re excited to be part of this year’s FlavourTrails Festival—a self-guided celebration of local food, farms, and makers across the city.
Swing by to explore the farm and enjoy:
• Guided farm tours at 11am & 2pm
Get a firsthand look at how we grow fresh, seasonal produce using sustainable, soil-building practices. From our vibrant garden beds to our thriving greenhouse, you’ll learn about the heart of our farm and what goes into nurturing the land and feeding our community.
• Bug hotel building (while supplies last) from 11am–3pm
This hands-on activity gives guests the chance to decorate and build their own bug hotel—perfect for placing in a garden to support biodiversity and help pollinators thrive. Bug hotels provide safe spaces for beneficial insects that are losing their natural habitats due to human activity.
Both activities are for all ages . Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
